ALSIDE VINYL REPLACEMENT WINDOWS:
SETTING THE STANDARD.

Alside sets the standard by which other replacement windows are measured. Over fifty years of innovation has resulted in a collection of windows that are designed and engineered to provide beauty, performance, ease of operation, virtually no maintenance, and increased energy-efficiency.

All Alside replacement windows are made with fully extruded virgin vinyl frames and sashes for durability and beauty with no chipping, peeling, cracking or warping. All colors are formulated right into the vinyl, so the color never fades and your windows will never need painting or staining. Airtight insulating chambers and insulated glass units provide energy-efficient performance throughout every season. And all Alside windows will operate easily, even after decades of regular use, thanks to the stainless steel, high performance Constant Force Balance system.

Best of all, Alside replacement windows gracefully enhance the architectural style of your home, whether it’s traditional or contemporary. Ranging from feature-packed models to high-quality value-driven models, we know there’s a model to fit your specific style, performance and budget needs.

ENERGY-EFFICIENT GLASS PACKAGES:
THE WINDOW UPGRADE THAT PAYS FOR ITSELF IN ENERGY SAVINGS.

As energy costs continue to skyrocket across the country – gas, electric and heating oil alike – you may be looking for ways to maximize the energy-efficiency of your home during your remodel or new construction project.

Look no further than Alside’s state-of-the-art, energy-efficient glass packages. Available on all of Alside’s Vinyl Replacement, Specialty and Performance Series New Construction Windows, these glass package upgrades may pay for themselves in energy savings all year round, while improving the overall comfort of your home and perhaps even increasing the value of it.

In fact, they’re so energy-efficient they qualify as ENERGY STAR-qualified products.*

Alside offers many energy-efficient glass packages. All selections feature PPG’s Solarban 60 Low-E glass and a “warm edge” spacer system. Additionally, all of them feature Argon gas between the panes of glass. Argon gas is a colorless, odorless, nonflammable, nontoxic and safe inert gas. Heavier than air, the Argon gas creates an additional layer of insulation that reduces the transmittance of heat and cold, but not light.

* The ENERGY STAR program is a voluntary partnership among the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the NFRC. It is designed to assist consumers in the recognition of energy-efficient products and promote the environmental and economic benefits of these products through the ENERGY STAR label and other program activities.

TAX CREDIT DETAILS FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS

tax credit

An exterior window or door (other than a storm window or storm door) is considered an “Eligible Building Envelope Component” when it meets or exceeds the prescriptive criteria established by the IECC for the climate zone in which the window or door is installed.

A taxpayer may treat an exterior window that bears an ENERGY STAR® label and is installed in the region identified on the label as an Eligible Building Envelope Component and may rely on such ENERGY STAR® label, rather than on a manufacturer’s certification statement, in claiming the § 25C credit.

The credit amount established by § 25C of the Internal Revenue Code is:

  • 10% of the amount paid or incurred by the taxpayer for qualified energy efficiency improvements installed during the taxable year.

  • Up to $200.00 maximum credit for windows for all taxable years (maximum $500.00 credit for all improvements combined).

  • Allowed only for amounts paid or incurred to purchase the window or door.

  • Not allowed for amounts paid for on site preparation, assembly, original installation labor, other components or sales tax.

  • The purchase must be made during the taxable year for which the credit is claimed.

  • Retroactive and with time limits, covering product in service after December 31, 2005 and before January 1, 2008.

The Energy Tax Credit information contained on the Alside® site is not complete or comprehensive. For the entire scope of information about the Credit for Non-Business Energy Property § 25C, please visit: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-06-26.pdf

Claiming Your Tax Credit

After establishing your eligibility to claim a Tax Credit for Non-Business Energy Property § 25C, please complete the following to ensure accuracy:

  3. Retain the contractor invoice, ENERGY STAR® labels and the Manufacturer's Certificate for your IRS records. You are not required to provide this documentation to the IRS, but you will be required to present it if audited.
